What Vitamins and Minerals Should Not Be Taken At The Same Time?

Detective's Answer:
The only time you really need to worry about vitamins and minerals "competing" with each other to "cancel" each other out is when you're taking REALLY high doses of vitamin and minerals. Basically they will compete with each other to reduce absorption rates.

For example, Vitamin E. If you take too much Vitamin E what happens is it affects the amount and absorption of Vitamin K.

The same goes with Calcium and Zinc, the fat-soluble vitamins, etc.

This is also why iron isn't in a lot of mutli-vitamins... because too much of iron can cause a decrease in absorption of other nutrients and vice versa.

But for the most part, vitamins and minerals work together to increase their effectiveness and absorption.

For example, Vitamin C replenishes Vitamin A and Vitamin E so they keep giving you their benefits. And the B vitamins works to replenish Vitamin C.

There's also a network of antioxidants that work together that you should be familiar with.

These vitamin antioxidants are Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium, Glutathione. These antioxidant vitamins work together in being powerful antioxidants and increase the "power" of their nutritional benefits.

This is why I recommend taking a multi-vitamin that includes Vitamin A, C, D, E, and Selenium at the very least.

Most multi-vitamins have these nutrients and most of the multi-vitamins I've taken or seen the labels on are loaded with other helpful nutrients that are only good for you body.

If you're going to take a multi-vitamin, I suggest taking one that's plant based and comes from whole foods.

One that I take is Prograde Men's Multi (they also have a Women's Multi).

I'm a very impatient person and if I want something (especially a supplement) I want to purchase it from a store and have it NOW!

But the reason I order online is because when you compare the quality and amount of nutrients for the price that you pay, Prograde's Multi delivers on both quality and price.

Order directly from their website and it even comes with a 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
